The other day when I did an overhaul, I touched up some frame scratches,
and that's when I used Wako's (Japanese automotive care brand) carnauba wax.
I wanted to know how long the effect would last, so at the same time I
applied it to my regular road bike too,
and I was amazed at how different the water beading became.
(The overhauled bike also has a barrier coat applied,
so it's not a fair comparison for durability,)
As for the water beading effect, even though the top tube has a flat shape,
when you pour water on it, it doesn't stay put — it just rolls off into droplets.

I thought this might protect against sweat, so I decided to try
the carnauba wax on my three-roller trainer bike too.

I applied it a bit thicker than usual for the photo to look good.
After a while it evaporates and turns white and hazy,
and you just wipe that off.

↑I took the bike into the bathroom and sprayed it with water from the shower,
and without any wiping or anything, this is the result.

↑The chainstay didn't get waxed this time.
It got the same shower treatment, and this is the result.
Sweat on the frame during roller trainer sessions is really bad for it,
so this kind of treatment might be worth doing.
UPDATE:

It worked so well that
we've started stocking it at our shop too~!
This is a "seriously" recommended product♪
