A customer dropped off a Racing 1 2WAY-FIT for service.
There was some runout and the hub was also off-center.
Plus, there seemed to be something wrong with the freewheel body rotation, so
when I opened it up, I found the spring that lifts the pawls was slightly bent,
so I replaced that too.
Instead of a continuous Ziiiiiiiiiiiii sound,
it was making more of a Zick-click Zick-click kind of noise,
and one of the three pawls was lifting a bit sluggishly.
It wasn't necessarily urgent for replacement,
but since it's not an expensive part anyway and there's some anxiety about not changing it,
I went ahead and replaced it.
↑The valve rattle guard was missing, so I replaced that too.
We've been seeing a lot of these go missing lately, so
I've made it a "part we always keep in stock at the shop."
The four-pawl version is for the 2WAY-FIT aluminum rim,
and the two-pawl version is for carbon rims like Bullet and Red Wind.
These two have no compatibility with each other, and you can't substitute one for a rim that doesn't match.
The "long shrimp" is a doodle I include as a way of asserting "this is my own image"
and to make it harder for people to repost without permission.
