A customer brought in a ZIPP 404 for work.

It has a Shimano 10-speed hub, but it's not a model that can be upgraded to 11-speed.
Even if it could be, the price of an OEM freebody is
about the same as an Evo lite hub plus re-lacing,
so we decided to go with a hand-built wheel for a more solid setup—the usual approach.

This is a ZIPP hub from the radial-lacing-on-the-freeside era,
but the spoke tension was quite tight for this spec.
Sounds like the customer had already tightened it up.

A few spokes have twisted flats,
but since we're not reusing the spokes, it doesn't matter.

Built it up.

Evo lite hub, 20-hole, semi-comp 4-cross lacing with crossed bracing.
