A customer brought in a Rolf Prima Vigor (spoke wheel) for service.
That's the inescapable limitation of paired spokes—you can only adjust at the nipple, so there's always a compromise with lateral truing.
Another shop apparently did the truing with a "that's about as good as it gets" attitude, but from what I could see, it really was just "as good as it gets."
It's actually really cleanly maintained work.
Even a stock unit off the shelf shouldn't end up in this condition.
They brought it in for a second opinion, but of course there are cases where the job is actually done properly.
This should be the normal standard, but that's not how reality works, so jobs cleaning up after sloppy work from other shops—local or far away—end up on my bench.
