A customer brought in a wheel from a brand we can call by name without issue
(they're not the type to blow up at us and protest that we're interfering with their business!)

The rear wheel got bent after contacting an acquaintance's front wheel,
but there was so little visible damage I couldn't tell if it was pre-existing lateral runout or caused by the impact.
Both front and rear wheels are pretty much centered with no rim offset.

The rear wheel is tangent-laced on both sides, but

the freewheel side has the final cross woven in, and

the non-freewheel side isn't woven.
I figure that's to keep noise from developing.

I rarely ask customers about a wheel's history or provenance
(unless that information is necessary for the repair),
but this customer volunteered that they'd bought it through an overseas distributor (kaigai tsūhan).
Well, honestly, if this is new, there's no way it came from anywhere else.
