I built the front wheel for Nomu Lab Wheel #2, but first—
We've been stocking these Black Hubs at the shop as a workaround for our Evolite hub shortage,
and specs-wise they're equivalent to: front hub = Novatec 291 = Tni Evo Hub,
rear hub = Novatec 482SL = Tni Evolite Hub.
The difference from Tni hubs is that the hub shell has no logo and the end caps are black,
but the no-logo hub shell turned out to be really useful
for rebuilding Reynolds and ZIPP wheels, so the rear hubs
got used up quickly and sold out not long ago. Since it's spot inventory, there are no plans to restock.
The front hubs are still in stock though.
The Black Hub has another feature too—
the flange holes are slot openings that can accommodate flat aero spokes,
so you can use stuff like Sapim CX.
