I'm building a bike with a bamboo frame for a friend,

Since I want to keep costs down, I was looking through my spare parts at home to install my own crank and seatpost,
and I found a 7800 crankset, so
I figured that would work and installed it.

The seat tube is too fat and I don't have front derailleur braze-ons and such,
so I can't install a front derailleur.
That means I have to set it up as a single-speed,
and with the Hollowtech II OEM bottom bracket and the FC-7800 combination,
when I mounted the single-speed chainring in the outer gear position,
the clearance with the chainstay was razor-thin.
