Sapim CX Sprint spokes have been restocked!
The CX Sprint comes in
two colors: silver and black · two lengths: 310mm and 270mm · two types of spoke head: bent and straight
2×2×2 = 8 different specifications in total.
The 310mm can be cut down to 270mm, and the 270mm can be cut down to 240mm,
so with these two lengths we can cover 310mm down to 240mm.
Of these, the black 310mm straight
ran out of stock at the distributor around February of last year and at our shop around May of last year.
The problem this created was that we could no longer rebuildwheels with
low rim height and equally low logiccertain pre-built wheels with low rim height.
For example, the Roval Alpinist CLX rebuild also requires 310mm spokes,
and I've told countless customers
"I'll stock it as soon as CX Sprint arrives in,"
but it's finally arrived!
We've received a quantity that should keep us covered for the time being.
I also ordered black 310mm bent spokes, but
those weren't out of stock.
Just recently, because we were out of black CX Sprint spokes,
I used silver CX Sprint to rebuild an Alpinist CLX with silver spokes front and rear, left and right.
I told the customer, "I've already built and laced the wheel,
but black CX Sprint spokes are due in any day now.
If you'd prefer black spokes,
I'll forget the materials and labor from the first build
and rebuild it again," but
the customer decided to keep the silver spokes.
