I took in a rebuild job on a Shimano WH-7900-C35-TU wheel.

The reason for the rebuild wasn't "because it has narrower flanges than the C24" (though that's true),
but because it doesn't support 11-speed.

Got it rebuilt.

Tni Evo hub with semi-competition lacing.
The spokes came out silver because the customer requested the lacing pattern.

If Shimano had made the 7900 wheels compatible with 11-speed through just a freebody swap,
I probably wouldn't have gotten this job in the first place.
The manufacturer themselves are abandoning old users with the 11-speed transition,
while most third parties are responding with 11-speed freebodies,
but which one actually makes business sense and which one is more user-friendly is
something I shouldn't even start to think about...
