A customer brought in a Nepest Wild 38 wheel for their

front wheel to be repaired.

It's a wheel built with steel spokes,
and the spokes are CX-RAY brand.
This wheel, from Nepest—
it's not quite accurate to say they just gave it away,
but it's also true they didn't buy it,
and the customer who brought it in
is basically a Nepest rep.

↑One spoke is broken.
Fortunately, the nipple didn't
fall inside the rim.
If it had fallen in,
I'd have to re-tension the cyclocross tubular tire.
Same issue if I accidentally dropped it during work,
so I was being careful about that.
On the same side as the broken spoke,
the neighboring spoke in the rotational direction
had some deformation, so I replaced that one too.

All fixed.
To have this ready for the All Japan Championship tomorrow,
there's probably no other shop in the driving area
that could get it done today besides us.

↑The replaced spokes
Regarding the Nepest Nova,
the previous generation was stiffer,
so they were saying that the VONOA carbon spokes being too thin
might be the reason for the sluggish feel.
That's about all I can write here based on what I heard.
Sorry about that.
