During night rides, when I find a vending machine in the mountains and stop,
it's often so completely covered
in insects and spider webs that I hesitate to buy anything.
The other day I found another one like that,
and there was a gecko.
The way it doesn't scurry away nervously, just calmly staying put—
and since it has no eyelids, the way it occasionally licks its eyes is pretty cute.
I'm hoping it'll devour all the insects attracted to the vending machine light.
