I received a Racing ZERO from a customer for servicing.

This is the later color variant with black-red-black finish of the first-generation Racing ZERO, which originally came only in red-red-red specs for the rim, spokes, and hub.
Everything else is the same as the original Racing ZERO.
The customer requested a hub overhaul and to fix anything else that needs attention.

I gave the wheel a thorough wash.

The rim's braking surface is worn down with a slight dip, so even my tried-and-true polishing tricks weren't very effective.

I removed the ball races from the front hub.

Ceramic balls were installed, but since USB (unsealed ball bearings) specs didn't exist back then, these must have been swapped in later.
I found signs of spalling on one of the ball races, so I replaced just that race.
Since the rotation feel didn't show any spalling characteristics, if I hadn't opened it up, I probably would have said "this one's still got plenty of life left."

I pressed in the new ball race.

The rear wheel just needed routine cleaning and relubrication.
The freewheel noise has gotten a bit louder, so if you prefer quieter operation, please let me know and I can adjust it extensively.
