Another wheel day today (and so on).

A customer dropped off a PowerTap hub with me.
At first glance it looks like a 10-speed freewheel body, but there's a secret to it.
I can't quite say what that secret is.

There's a set screw on the spline of the freewheel body that
apparently got dropped inside by accident.
When you shake it, it rattles, so first I need to fish it out.

I removed the bearings.
Both cartridge bearings have seals on both sides,
and there's no grease filling the freewheel body interior.
This set screw is a cap for the grease hole.
On other Novatech hubs it might serve a purpose,
but on the PowerTap hub it's like a vestigial organ—it's meaningless.

I removed the freewheel body.
There's grease on the hub side, but
the area around the pawls on the freewheel body is clean, as if it had been wiped.
Apparently it was wiped when they fixed it in a vise.
Why the freewheel body needed to be clamped in a vise is a secret.
The customer wanted a re-greasing, so

the grease on the hub side had become slightly emulsified, so

I cleaned it and applied fresh grease.

All assembled.

32 holes, half-competition laced pattern with nipple connections.
