A customer left me with the rear wheel of a Bora One 35 (high-end carbon wheelset).
One spoke is severely bent.
This is a chilling story, but
it was resting on a simple kickstand—the type that hooks onto the quick release of the rear hub.
Someone unfamiliar with road bikes mounted it without permission,
apparently thinking they could pedal it like a trainer/roller.
The moment they started pedaling, the stand came loose from the quick release,
got tangled up with the seat stay and wrapping around it
while the rear wheel spun violently and made cracking sounds.
Oh my goodness.
There's damage to the frame too, apparently,
but they only brought the rear wheel.

which means this single spoke absorbed all that impact.
When I release it from the tension,
it just looks bent into a V-shape, but...
When I run my finger across the surface, there's barely a flat spot to be found—
it's bent in countless tiny wrinkles all over it.
