A customer left a WH-6800 (Shimano wheelset) with me for service.


Both wheels had significant runout from wear over time.
That alone would be fine, but the rear wheel center was offset abnormally.
This amount of misalignment couldn't have come from the factory—
it only happens when someone "just keeps truing the wheel without checking the center".

When I looked at the sprocket, something felt seriously off, so I removed it.
The shop had done something pretty unthinkable (not the customer), so I fixed it. I explained to the customer what had gone wrong.
Cleaning the sprocket was just something I did while I was at it.
