Another day with wheels (and so on).

A customer left me with a 303 rear wheel.

The job is to rebuild it with a Shimano 11-speed freebody hub.
They didn't mention anything about the radial lacing on the freewheel side being loose or whatever,
but with a semi-comp four-cross lacing, building it looser than this
is pretty much impossible (well, you could do it if you intentionally made the freewheel side super loose),
so after the rebuild they'll probably discover
just how loose the old wheel was. Heh heh.
This rim isn't a Firecrest,
and non-Firecrest 303 rims have pretty wide variations in inner diameter,
so I measure the rim's inner diameter for each individual one.
Rim diameter variation is common across carbon rims in general,
but on certain batches of ZIPP wheels it's really pronounced—
comparing the most extreme examples, spoke length would have to differ by 1mm.

Built.

Evolite hub, 24-hole, semi-comp four-cross lacing.
I don't think I need to braze the spokes,
but doing it really transforms the wheel, so I'll do that later.
