F6R

I took in an F6R from a customer.

Thanks to the relationship between rim width and tire width, I was able to check with the centering gauge without removing the tubular tire,
and since it has external universal nipples, I could inspect it without removing the tire.
The front wheel didn't have much going on,
but the rear wheel has lateral runout on both sides.
When there's runout from some single obvious cause that the rider can pinpoint themselves
—like stepping on a rock last time, getting caught in a pothole, or crashing—
usually there's just one noticeable flat spot on one side.
But this one has fine lateral runout left and right, so
it looks like it's seen some serious abuse.
With the lateral runout present, the temporary center point was off before servicing,
but no matter where I check, the rim is consistently off toward the freewheel side,
so there's definitely overall center misalignment.

But what really gave me chills wasn't that—there was something else entirely.
The customer asked, "By the way, has ○○'s wheel (someone they know) been built yet?"
Wow, the world really is small. I didn't realize this wheel's customer and
○○ were acquainted with each other.
I answered, "It's almost ready,"
and what came together recently was indeed the Nomu Lab wheel 2.5 (Nomu Lab custom wheelset version 2.5) I'd just built.
