Another wheel day (and so on).

A customer brought in the front wheel of a Racing Zero Night (Fulcrum high-performance wheel).
The rim has irreparable deformation, so it needs replacement.
Currently at our shop we have two pairs of Racing Zero Night wheels in for rim replacement—front and rear—
and two pairs of Shamal Mille (Fulcrum wheel model) also front and rear, but these happen to be four separate jobs.
We also have a Shamal Ultra Titanium Grey rear rim replacement.
Everything except the Shamal Mille rear rim has arrived, so we're eager to get these built up soon.

The rim crown area is dented in.
What looks like a metallic burr is actually a sticker.
If that peeling section were aluminum, just barely touching it could cut your hand badly, so you have to be careful.

I peeled it back a bit. Just a dent.

We stock the front rim under the Racing Zero Night part number,
but for the front wheel it's actually the same as the Shamal Mille.
So the sticker is sold separately, and if customers prefer,
we can build it up without a sticker.
The four front rims mentioned earlier from the two pairs of Night and Mille—
all have C15 rim width, and we could upgrade to C17 during rim replacement,
but no customers requested that.
It's not that wide rims are disliked;
I think the reason is just that it would look odd with different rim widths front and rear.

↑The rim before the rebuild (the brake zone isn't even worn much, for that matter),
and I noticed the sticker on this section seemed to be blocking the water drain hole.

↑This is the rim after the rebuild, and that's exactly what was happening.
So I've applied the sticker with a small gap.
It's pretty common for Campagnolo and Fulcrum stickers
to block water drain holes.

It's built.

I've positioned it so that the hub body phase visible through the valve hole is as close as possible to the Fulcrum logo.
