Replaced the rim on a Bora One 50 Tubular Dark Label

A customer brought in a Bora One wheel for me to work on.

The rim cracked with a sharp "crack" sound during a race crash, so they wanted the rim replaced.

The thing about the Bora One rim is that there's no spare parts option available.
The Bora One rim is actually the same as the Bora Ultra rim,
except for the Bora One sticker that's already applied to it.

The Bora Ultra does have a spare rim available—
for the 50mm high tubular with dark label,
the part number is WH-002BO50DK, and it costs around 116,000 yen.
The sticker is already applied to it.
Just to be clear, that's the price for the rim alone.

In the case of the Bora One, there's a rear wheel option available
under the part number WH-15BOTRX11DK, which costs around 135,000 yen.
When you consider that replacing the rim with a Bora Ultra rim
versus buying a new Bora One rear wheel means you'd also get a new hub,
the latter option is actually the better deal—
which is why Bora One rim replacements aren't available as a single part.

That's the answer I came up with, but...

We replaced the rim.

The customer found a Chinese carbon tubular rim for less than 20,000 yen
that had virtually the same G3 rim hole spacing and inner diameter.
We did need to use generic 3.2mm nipples instead of
the 4mm Campagnolo nipples, though.

Incidentally, this rim weighed around 450g,
and I was surprised because the original Bora One rim
was actually quite impressive for its height in terms of weight.

After removing the hub and spokes, it's just a rim to be disposed of,
but I'm not going to post photos of the pointless effort
of extracting all the nipples through the valve hole just to measure the actual weight.
Don't go thinking you can just move your mouse around and find out the weight—grow up.
↑man, this guy's got a real attitude problem
