Built a rear wheel with an Atlanta 96 rim

Wheels again today (and so on).

Continuing from yesterday.
This Campagnolo NJS rear hub features
large flanges with single-threaded axle design.

Dual-threaded hubs have no dish offset,
but this hub has approximately 7mm more width on the left flange
from a baseline of equal, no-dish configuration.
Shimano's HB-7600 large-flange track hub also
uses dished design when single-threaded.
I've written about this before (I think it was regarding Gokiso hubs),
but when it comes to lateral wheel stiffness,
whether spoke tension matches left and right
is a minor detail compared to flange width differences (pretty much doesn't matter).
With dual-threaded hubs, both sides have equal tension,
but with single-threaded hubs, they're willing to accept
unequal left-right spoke tension in exchange for widening the left side only—
this comes from practical experience understanding why that matters.

According to my reference materials (a Gokiso catalog),
"Hubs with excessively wide rear flanges produce greater tension variation
and can lead to spoke and rim breakage." But this attitude of trusting
their own biased testing results over a century-plus of competitive cycling
conventional wisdom is truly pathetic.
Don't go back on what you've already said. Better yet, just keep making narrow-flange hubs—
if you change course now, you won't be able to face your existing customers.

(since it's single-threaded).

Italian lacing pattern.
Since this wheel won't be flipped over, I went with Italian pattern.
No need for bracing wire, so I won't bother with it.
Granted, you can tell by touch that the left side has slightly lower tension.

Speaking of this NJS hub, it properly adheres to NJS specifications.
I had some questions about that, so I did some research.

This is yesterday's front hub, with the NJS marking on the cone.

This is today's rear hub,
and both front and rear hubs have the NJS marking stamped on the flange.

The locknut also has the NJS marking.
The rear hub axle is 10mm diameter.
Standard M10 bolt thread pitch is 1.5mm (coarse),
and occasionally 1.25mm (fine),
but bicycle standard BC threads specify M10 as 1.0mm pitch.

The lockring threads are reverse-threaded,
with a Campagnolo lockring installed.
That's fine, but

it has a peen-finished nut attached.

When I removed it and tried to thread on an NJS nut,
it only went about a turn before stopping.
Actually, the Campagnolo hub axle pitch isn't
1.0mm but rather 0.977mm.

When I tried to install a Campagnolo NJS nut,
the pitch didn't match and it wouldn't advance.

Next, I tried the same thing with
a Sun Tour Superbe track hub

and it threaded on smoothly.

In other words, Campagnolo properly differentiates
hub axles, cones, and locknut specifications
for their NJS hubs to meet the required standards.
It's obvious when you think about it, but I found it unusual
that "there exists a Campagnolo M10 × 1.0mm rear hub axle,"
so I looked into it.

As for the Atlanta rim, the stated weight is 590g,
but both of today's rims came in lighter than that, which surprised me.
"590g is the official claim, and basically no specimen actually comes under 600g,"
so if it's going to be a heavy rim anyway, I'd think it more interesting to swing
all the way in that direction.
Incidentally, I'm not sharing specific weights.
Why should I tell you? ←geez, this guy's got a real attitude problem
