A customer dropped off the rear wheel from a Shamal Ultra (high-end racing wheel) for repair.

One spoke was broken midway through.

The way it's wrapped around the neighboring spoke wasn't natural—he bent it that way to ride the bike home under its own power.
Apparently there was a crack in the spoke from some impact in the past,
and it finally broke from there.
I think I've mentioned this before, but spoke breaks like this usually happen
during hard accelerations from a stop—like when pushing off from a traffic light—
and this time was no exception. He said there was a loud "snap!" when he accelerated from a stop heading up a steep hill.

Fixed it.

↑ replaced spoke
The mating spoke at the final cross of this spoke—which doesn't physically contact it since they're woven apart—
had a small scratch on it that probably came from the moment of fracture,
but it wasn't deformed and showed no signs of wobble, so I didn't replace it.
