I built the front wheel for Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5.
Evolite hub 20H black CX-RAY with reverse non-spoke radial lacing
and red aluminum nipples. The matching rear wheel was built a while back.
The customer who ordered this wheel
had their tubular tires on their current wheels in pretty rough shape—
both front and rear tread was severely cracked.
When they came in recently asking about a tire change,
I told them "Hold off on the replacement, hang in there a bit longer, I'll have No. 5 built soon."
Well, today they showed up with a flat rear tire and dangerous tread on the front,
riding on a spare tire in the rear,
so I built the front wheel on the spot and they switched to WO tires at the perfect (?) moment.
Man, that was cutting it close.
