Today, another wheel build (and so on).
Built a front wheel with an AL22W rim (with brake zone).
Evolite hub 20H CX-RAY reverse nipple radial lacing
with green aluminum nipples.
But two of the green aluminum nipples had defects.
In the image above, the left one is normal, and the two on the right are the defective ones.
The first one had a color that was too dark, so I rejected it.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but
the color difference in the actual product is much more noticeable (nearly black looking).
With red or blue nipples, it's not uncommon for
an entire box of 100 to be darker than other batches,
but since out of 200 across two boxes only this one was extremely dark, I rejected it.
The nipple on the far right looks normal at first glance, but
one side has a color defect.
For some reason, color-defective nipples
seem to show up way more often in green than other colors.
