A customer brought in the front wheel from a Bora One (high-end racing wheelset) for repair.

One spoke is completely broken,
and apparently it just snapped with a loud crack while the bike was sitting at home.
At least it didn't happen while out riding.
The customer mentioned they'd had a crash before and knew there was a scratch on this spoke from back then.

↑The spokes on both sides of the broken one also have damage.
Normally I wouldn't replace spokes at this level,
but this time I decided to be safe and replace them anyway.

All fixed.

↑The spokes I replaced
The ones with just scratches on either side—
there's barely any deformation at all.

As for the broken spoke,

when I lined up the break surfaces, there was basically no deformation in the fore-aft direction either.
