This is the partner to the rear wheel I rebuilt the other day.

Chris King R45 hub, 20H
Black CX-RAY spokes, radial lacing.
The customer asked if I could tighten it further if there's still room, but honestly it's already extremely tight—barely any room to increase tension at all. Some shop nearby apparently said "with this hub, tightening it more is pointless," so I wondered if they'd maxed it out, but when I asked the customer, they said nothing special was done to it.
Not that I'm doubting them, but the spoke tension was unusually high compared to what you'd typically see on a stock wheel from the factory.

There was a slight centering issue.

Wringing out every last bit of tension carefully, as if treading on thin ice, I was able to tighten both sides roughly a quarter turn. On top of that, I corrected the centering issue by using slightly uneven tension adjustment on one side, which means there's not a single nipple that wasn't already being tensioned. If this doesn't hold, I'll have no choice but to rebuild it with CX Sprint spokes.
