Kshyrium Pro Carbon UST Disc

A customer dropped off a Kshyrium Pro Carbon UST Disc for me.

It's brand new, never used since purchase.
They wanted an inspection done.

↑The usual pattern.
The customer had to step out partway through,
so I needed to document what I found—which is how this blog post came about.

Next, the front wheel.

Not as bad as the rear wheel, but still out of center.

On both wheels, the rim runout was in the direction of "either tension the tight side more or loosen the loose side more"—and naturally I tensioned the tight side. The rear wheel gave me a real struggle though. The front wheel had less centering deviation for a Mavic and was a loose-tension specimen, so as I was tensioning it toward the upper limit and correcting lateral runout, the center pretty much came out on its own.

I remove the tires during this work to get a proper centering gauge on there. Regarding the included UST tubeless tires—these serve as nothing more than padding to protect the rim during transport, and you shouldn't expect anything beyond that. Even if someone does use them, repeaters who buy the same tire again are (at least from what I've seen) extremely rare. So I was about to suggest they keep them unused if they planned to sell them—well, I did suggest it—but the customer said they didn't need them installed again. Since they're 28C width, they'll probably never use them anyway, and even if they weren't 28C width, they probably still wouldn't use them.
