The 98.9% Win Rate Guy

A customer brought in a Fuji chromoly frame fixed gear bike for city riding.

The seatpost is seized and won't come out.

I've got my 99% win rate tool here, but
before this I had a couple of cases I never wrote about
(because they needed verification)
and during that time it made some remarkable improvements
so even past cases where I've failed
might be solvable with the current version.

This one today was easy work.
Even after loosening the seat clamp and
shaking the saddle, it wouldn't budge at all.
Well, if it wasn't that stubborn
customers probably wouldn't bother bringing it to our shop.

Got it out!
From now on, your name is "98.9% Win Rate Guy"!

The seatpost is originally black anodized aluminum, but
the black anodizing on components like stems and seat clamps
found on hybrid bikes and budget road bikes
has low light resistance and fades.
This seatpost too showed clear discoloration
in the section where it was inside the frame.

Especially on stems and seat clamps you see this a lot, but
cheap black anodizing fades to this bronze color.
On the undersides and areas that don't get much sunlight
the black sometimes remains.
