Another day with wheels (and so on).

A customer left the front wheel of Nomu Lab Wheel No. 1 with me.
There's an ENVE sticker on it, but don't mind that.
The space in the bottom right of the image looks warped, but

it's actually the rim that's warped.

They were riding on an unfamiliar route when
the front wheel got caught in a fairly wide gray grating,
and since they were going slow, they stopped and used leverage to—the rim went *crack*.
If they'd hit it at speed, the rim might have bent enough to need replacement anyway,
but it wouldn't have broken in quite this way.
In that scenario, the wheel would have flipped end-over-end on the front axle
and there could have been serious injury.
So we're lucky it was just the front wheel that got damaged.

↑from here

↑to here is bent.
The rim deformation was too severe to transfer the spokes, so I couldn't reuse the old rim.
Since this meets the criteria of "another day with wheels (and so on),"
it actually works out better for me too.

Got it built up.

Silver spokes with brass nipples, but since this was built recently,
I reused 19 out of 20 nipples, but

↑this one couldn't be salvaged, so I replaced it with a new one.
All the spokes were reusable.
