This is content I mentioned at the end of yesterday's WH-RX830 rear wheel article,
but I've made it a separate post.
About the alphabet code on the stickers on Shimano products:
The letter on the left side represents the year.
Starting with A in 1976 and continuing through Z in 2001,
then starting over from A again in 2002, so 2022 would be U.
The letter on the right side represents the month, with A through L corresponding to January through December.
The image above is my HB-9000, the final Dura-Ace hub,
and it says QG, so it was manufactured in July 2018.
I'll write out a quick reference:

↑This is the Dura-Ace pedal PD-R9100, and
it says TH, so that's August 2021.
As you can see, sometimes the code is
printed directly on the product rather than on a sticker.
Note: I noticed afterward that
the sticker on the previous image also had TH on it.
↑This is the rear wheel hub from the WH-RX830 I mentioned the other day, and
↑this is the front wheel hub, but in both cases
the stamp on the hub shows MI (September 2014),
while the sticker shows MH (August 2014).
If it were the other way around, I'd think "the hub was made in August,
and the wheel was assembled with it in September," but
for some reason the hub stamp is later.
Well, it's safe to say these wheels were made in August or September 2014.
The WH-RX830 appears in Shimano's yearly catalogs
from 2014 through 2018.
So this wheel was purchased pretty soon after it came out.
The point I'm making is:
it's pretty lame from a business standpoint that spare parts
for wheels that were still in circulation up until 2018
are no longer available.
