I Want the Altair

Profile Design has a carbon wheel called the Altair.

Rim heights come in two options: 52mm and 80mm,
All models have 20H front and 24H rear spokes,
The rims come in three types: semi-carbon clincher with aluminum braking zone,
full carbon clincher with carbon braking zone, and
full carbon tubular,
and each type is available in both 52mm and 80mm,
plus you can buy front and rear wheels separately—it's an amazing wheel.

↑The lightest is the Altair 52 tubular, but

↑What I really want is the heaviest one—the Altair 80 semi-carbon clincher.
But the distributor's inventory is sold out of just the rear rim in the Altair 80 semi-clincher.
The rear freebody only comes in Shimano spec, but since it uses hollow-point spokes,
I can build it however I like at my own risk.
The price is reasonable too, so honestly I wouldn't mind buying it just for the rim, even if it's a bit unconventional.
So it occurred to me—what if I disassembled the front 20H and re-laced it as a rear?
A rear wheel with 20H spokes is a bit sketchy with hollow-point spokes,
but with this rim height it should be fine.
I'm torn. Really torn...

The Forhyr Design Uatari 50 I'm using now is also a good wheel.
When I decided to use the Tni AL300 rim for the front, the rear rim being lower bothered me aesthetically,
so I went with this for the back wheel.
I have things I could write about regarding the feel of the AL300,
but before that I want to write about wheel nipples,
so I'll save that for another day. And so I keep adding to my to-do list like this.
