Another day working on wheels (and so on).
A customer dropped off a PowerTap hub rear wheel
built with a ZIPP 303 tubular rim.
It's something we built here at the shop before,
and the customer wants us to rebuild it using this hub
as the Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5.
They also requested a new front wheel to match,
which is the one I built yesterday.
The tires are old Vittoria Corsa CX, but the tread
is peeling off in various places.
You can really see how the structure works—the tread
is laid on top of the full carcass like sushi toppings.
Since the rubber material in the tread section
doesn't wrap around to the tire sidewalls,
it has open sides.
Built it.
G3 hub, 24 spokes, semi-comp 4-cross lacing.
I'll do the nipple wrapping later.
