Rebuilt the front wheel on the CL50

Another day, wheels (and so on).

A customer brought me both the front and rear wheels of a Roval CL50.
Today I'm only doing the front wheel,
but they said it feels loose and needs to be rebuilt.
With the CL50 rather than the CLX,
most of the time these are wheels that come stock on complete bikes,
but when I asked the customer, they said they'd actually purchased it separately.
This was bought before the recent price increase,
and at that time the price difference between the CL50 and CLX50
was around 170,000 to 180,000 yen,
but they deliberately chose the CL50 with the plan
to have us rebuild it down the road anyway.

I'd do the same in that situation.
With the CLX50 you'd get Ceramicspeed bearings,
but especially on the front hub, the rotation gets sluggish
from over-tightening the thru-axle anyway,
and even though the hub body is slightly different,
the multi-spoke side is laced 2-cross XL either way.
If we were to rebuild a CLX, we could
reuse the aero-lite spokes and aluminum nipples on the multi-spoke side,
but that's not savings enough to justify the CL and CLX price gap.
By the way, the customer owns a nomulabo wheel No. 5
(the customer was calling it that with an honorific for some reason),
so if we rebuild the CL50 they can pretty much imagine
what it'll be like, so there's no need for me to explain.

They brought it from Kanto, Y City in K Prefecture,
carrying the wheels directly in a wheel bag.
We're shipping the finished wheel rather than having them pick it up.
They stopped by the shop as part of a business trip.
On one hand, they're the type who can create their own business trips
and probably has the company paying for their travel to Osaka,
but we shouldn't think too much about it.
It looks like they traveled alone, but if it had been two people
and I was in the junior position, I definitely couldn't
openly bring a wheel bag onto the shinkansen in front of my boss.

The spokes are DT Competition Race straight,

and the nipples are brass,
but they were pretty heavily corroded.

Rebuilt it.

The spokes are black half CX Sprint in reverse butted lacing,

and the nipples are red aluminum per the customer's request.
I'll do the stress relief later.
