The drill whines to life!

A customer brought in a SRAM RED right crankarm for us to work on.

They'd snapped one of the 8 bolts.
This time it's just this one spot.
Past incidents (→here)(→here)(→here)
The drill bits we had in stock at the time
weren't cutting through very well,
(we could only manage to create a guide indent),
so we decided to source a carbide drill bit
and tackle it after that arrives.

True to form, the carbide drill bit cuts right through smoothly.

Drilled a hole to engage the "イモネジゆるめ~る君" (seized bolt removal tool).

Out came the broken bolt in seized condition.

↑This little guy
This time we recovered it as a non-through hole.

The "イモネジゆるめ~る君" (seized bolt removal tool)
is a new one, different from what appeared in past posts.

When you hook it in like this,
you can loosen a seized bolt.

Our shop sells individual SRAM crankarm 8-bolts. Currently we have plenty in stock.
