Chikyuu-san's Recommended Setup

In the Kansai cyclocross series races,
there's "Yuru Cross" (casual cyclocross),
a race format designed to promote cyclocross with
relaxed regulations and atmosphere (aside from the top category).
This year, Nishiki no Hama was held as a Yuru Cross event.

At that race, a customer showed up on
a custom disc road frame with 700C tire clearance for 32C tires,
or 650B clearance for 35C tires—
running 650B with 35C tires—

and brought the bike in after the race.
The brake lever positioning has become
trendy lately, but
before the race both levers were set straight and parallel.
During the race, after doing an endo and crashing,
Chikyuu-san pushed hard with "Hey, this is the latest trend!"
and recommended a different setup.
Sure enough, the inward angle was sloppily different
left and right, and

the right lever had been rather aggressively "recommended."
Since we're rewrapping the bar tape anyway,
I checked that the handlebar didn't have serious damage
and inspected the stem clamp area—no issues found—
so I reset the brake lever angles back to straight again.
