Rebuilt the front wheel of the 303 Firecrest that was previously rebuilt

Another day on the wheel (etc.).

A customer brought in a ZIPP 303 Firecrest front wheel
that we had previously rebuilt.

The hub was rebuilt using a Grothack EQUAL brand hub,
but lately the bearings have been failing
around 1000km, so they've had it replaced twice
at a nearby shop, and it's gotten rough again.
They asked if I could swap it out for a Tni Rebo Disc hub—
basically, rebuild the wheel.

The reason the bearings fail is unclear,
but one thing is certain: there's no careless over-tightening
of the through-axle.

Built it up.

Rebo Disc hub, half CX sprint rim,
64-spoke reverse Italian laced with nipple washers.
I released the original lacing, reused the spokes,
and re-laced it.

The time spent on both "recovering all the nipple washers
that fell into the rim" and "releasing the solid lacing"
exceeded the time for the actual wheel building itself.
