Replaced the front wheel rim on Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5

Another day, another wheel (and so on).

A customer brought in the front wheel from their Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5 (a custom-built wheel) for repair.
They were riding along the road-side edge of the sidewalk when
their right brake lever caught on a post to the right,
and in the next moment the front wheel got wrapped around the post and struck the side.

There were scratches on the rim sidewall,
and the tire sidewall was also abraded at the same time,
though not severe enough to be considered a sidewall cut.

When I put it on the truing stand, the rim was clearly bent,
and I was certain that replacement was necessary.

There was clearly one bent spoke,

and there was paint from the post on the spoke.

The adjacent spoke on the same side also had paint on it,
so I determined these two needed replacement,
but when I changed the rim, I discovered
the next spoke over also needed to be replaced.

In the middle of relocating the rim...

↑Replaced spokes
When you fix the threaded end with tape,
the head end lifts up—the spokes
are deformed laterally to this degree.
From top to bottom in the image,
this is the order they got wrapped around the post during wheel rotation.

↑The top one is especially deformed.
In the original wheel's condition,
only this one spoke showed obvious deformation.
