Rebuilt the rear wheel of a Rovale Rapide CLX40

Another wheel day (and so on).

A customer brought in the rear wheel of a Rovale Rapide CLX40 for me to work on.

It's from the era when it had an internal nipple design, and the spokes are DT Revolution straight gauge spokes. I think I've seen a different rim height variant of this recently, but I shouldn't dwell on it (→here).
The wheel's lost its tension, so they want it rebuilt. Since this customer has had wheels rebuilt here several times before, there's no need for detailed explanations.

Rebuilt it.

I went with a reverse radial lacing as a counterpoint to 2:1 lacing, using black half CX Sprint spokes. I'll do the spoke nipple dressing later. Even without it, this wheel is a huge improvement over the original.

As for the rim on this wheel, true to its model name it has a 40mm rim height, which is lower than the later disc brake version CLX50, and the rim is also narrower, so it should weigh less than the 435g average we see with CLX50s (and I've got plenty of samples to back that up). When I actually measured it...

I'm taking my leave without waiting for the closing remarks!
