Rebuilt DT P1800 Spline Rear Wheel with Nômu Labo Wheel No. 5 Rim

Wheels again today (and so on).

Continuing from the other day.
I'm rebuilding the DT P1800 rear wheel
with a Nômu Labo Wheel No. 5 rim.

The hub is a DT 370 grade spline
24 holes, laced forced 2-cross left and right.
The spokes are different diameters on each side—the freewheel side uses New Aero II,
and the non-freewheel side uses Aero Comp Wide like the front wheel.
These spokes don't differ much in their left-right width,
but their thickness is clearly different.

The reason the rear wheel needed a rim swap
is that a rim hole cracked.
Well, that's how it is (← though it's really not ideal)

Only on the freewheel-side nipples,
I can see marks where the inner edge grip was stripped
when turned.
With the wheel under tension,
the Squorx nipple's vertical length is short, and
its grip edges are oddly rounded—
turning them without stripping is nearly impossible.

I'm confident the spoke length matches,
so I'm transferring the rim over.
I'm swapping the nipples to DT 12mm black aluminum ones.

Built.

Unlike the front wheel, the hub axle's rotation feels rough,
and it's certain that the bearings are shot,
but I'll save the replacement work for when the customer is watching.

This hub doesn't have a star ratchet—
it's a 3-pawl pole spring design,
but there's rust creep around the pawls.
