In the article about the TC500 hub,
I wrote something like
"Do we really need to make a
142mm width hub with Microspline specification?"
and I received two comments saying
"It's for use with GRX."
Ah, I see — that makes sense.
Thank you for the comments.

Campagnolo released something called the N3W,
a freewheel body where you can choose whether to remove
part of the spline on the freewheel body,
making it compatible with either the traditional 11T top ED (ExaDrive) freewheel body
or allowing 9T or 10T top sprockets to be fitted.
This was first introduced as a gravel-specific component
for the 1×13-speed Ekar groupset.

But then after that,
with the Super Record 2×13-speed groupset that came later,
among the four sprocket configurations available,
the 10-29T and 10-33T setups
have tooth count combinations that require
the N3W freewheel body.
So the flow was: Ekar hub standard →
adoption in Super Record.

In the same way, the flow of
GRX hub standard →
adoption in Dura-Ace
might happen too.
