Original Bora

I received an original Bora wheel from a customer.

There were missing parts inside the hub
and various issues, so I sourced parts from
a matching-era new hub in my collection and got it working again.

It's almost too nice of a wheel to use,
but it would be a waste not to use it either (talk about contradictions),
so if it's going to be used, I want it in proper working condition.

This Bora's rim is made of Corima (Italian carbon rim manufacturer) carbon.
I own a Gipiemme C416 (carbon 40mm high 16H) wheel,
and it actually uses the same rim.
Corima rims from back then had lots of bubble-like voids, visible on the surface too.
Transfer stickers were applied over them,
but this is what happens with age and use.
There's no issue with functionality.

The Gipiemme C416 had its yellow logo painted with masking tape,
but the paint started flaking, so I wiped it off with solvent.
The yellow paint inside the voids just wouldn't come off completely.
Like the black specks you see in the BORA lettering in the photo above,
little yellow particles remain on the rim.

After cleaning the hub internals and regreasing, the rotation improved quite a bit.
Worth noting: the bearing ball diameters differ between the two sides.
(For some reason the freewheel side has smaller balls,
but with more balls, I think they're balancing it out that way)
