The WH-RS10

I took in a WH-RS10 from a customer...well, not just that
I've got the whole bike in for a complete overhaul
and this work is part of that process.

↑These images are after the work.
I forgot to take a full picture before work.
The bike was mounted on a roof rack with front and rear wheels attached
and apparently got bumped into the ceiling by accident,
which caused the front wheel to develop runout.
It's a small blessing that the frame and such came out unscathed.

The front wheel had sluggish hub rotation, so I fixed that, and
I didn't check the centering before doing the truing, so I can't say for sure,
but it was off-center after truing, so I fixed that.
It's probably been out of true from the beginning.
As for the runout, the rim wasn't bent enough to worry about, so
I was able to true it to new condition quality,
actually new RS10s don't get this meticulously trued,
so in a sense it's better than new

to that degree.

The rear wheel only needed minor truing.

The wheels were dirty so I cleaned them during the full wash that's part of the overhaul.

It's the wet method ninja technique (you know which one),
but I've recently come up with a new approach.
It doesn't make the work easier (actually it's more hassle)
but the finish quality is higher.

The tire is the same one (just to be clear).
