I received a 303 rear wheel from a customer.

The rim is a Firecrest in WO (wire-on) specification

and the hub is a DT240S in Shimano 11-speed freehub specification.

It's built with black Campagnolo Record spokes in a 4-cross pattern with solder joints.

It's not quite as tight as the 808 rear wheel I worked on the other day,
but the spoke stress is pretty well balanced.

I'm going to rebuild this onto a PowerTap hub.

I want to reuse the nipples and nipple washers,
but if they fall into the rim it's a pain to retrieve them, so I'll use the hub transfer method.

Disassembled.
I'll deliberately convert the hub back to 10-speed.

I cleaned and greased the star ratchet.

Built it up.

G3 hub, all-black CX-Ray spokes in a 4-cross pattern.

I tensioned the drive side as much as possible,
but when I grip the non-drive side

it flexes a bit with light pressure.

I bet many of you thought something seemed off about this story,
but actually the timeline of this post is in reverse.
The customer wanted me to take their existing 10-speed hub, convert it to 11-speed,
and rebuild it into the PowerTap rear wheel with tighter spoke tension.

I had tried to tighten up the original 303 before,
but the drive side was already at its limit, so
there was no way to dramatically transform it.
