A customer dropped off an RS80 C50 wheelset with me.

I accidentally deleted the rear wheel photo.
They wanted an overhaul and truing work,
but based on how rough the hub felt when spinning it,
I confidently told them before even disassembling: "Both front and rear hubs have pitting on the ball races."

But the front wheel cleaned up and re-greased to like-new condition.
Where did all that grinding feeling come from?

The rear wheel did have pitting on the freewheel side ball race.
When bearing ball damage varies between sides,

it's immediately obvious which side is which originally.
In the image above on the left, the duller finish with less shine is the freewheel side.
This time I just covered it up with re-greasing without replacing parts
and left it as-is. The inspection was just fine truing adjustments on both wheels.
