Euras 2WAY-FIT Overhaul

I received an Euras (Japanese utility bicycle) from a customer for service.

They requested a full overhaul.

It was just normal wear—the grease had dried out—with no play or looseness. The bearing balls and other components weren't damaged enough to require replacement.

The freewheel body pawl spring wasn't bent either.

I replaced just one part. It was the seal that fits over the ball race—the rubber portion had torn and the metal core was showing through, so I swapped it out. (The condition in the photo is exaggerated because I pulled it back for the picture.)

I didn't charge the customer for this part—I included it in the labor cost—and I also forgot to mention it in the letter, so I still haven't told them yet.

During inspection, I found the wheel had some lateral runout, which is normal with regular use. There was hub centering offset both front and rear, though the rear wheel was slightly more pronounced. Since the customer also owns a Nomu Lab Wheel No. 2, they may have already noticed the centering offset when they swapped wheels, judging from the brake shoe clearance.
