The rear wheel with a Shamal Ultra (Campagnolo wheelset) that came with the bike we took in for wire routing and chain replacement
has a "whooshing" noise when it spins.
It seems like either the bottom bracket or the rear hub is corroded,

The rear hub rotation is gritty,
but it spins smoothly when the freebody is pulled out.
So the bearings inside the freebody are corroded,
but since there's secondary rust damage directly below the outer bearing on the hub shaft,
it looks like the outer bearing is shot.

The rust looks like it's rotating,

and that's exactly what it was.

The inner bearing wasn't in great shape either, just slightly better than the outer one.
Since these aren't expensive parts anyway,
I went ahead and replaced them happily.

↑When I spray parts cleaner on the outer bearing, rust liquid comes out.

The corrosion on the shaft hadn't eaten too deeply into the material,
so I was able to get it clean.

All fixed.
