Another day with wheels (and so on).

Continuing from yesterday.
I built a rear wheel with a 440 rim.

Evolite hub 24H, semi-comp lacing pattern with spoke nipples.
When it comes to carbon rim weight and rim height,
things haven't changed much since that era (mid-90s).
In the case of ZIPP, if we're just talking weight, it doesn't go back that far—
wheels from slightly earlier were actually lighter.
But buckling strength, braking performance (which also depends on brake pads),
and rim tension limits have changed dramatically over the past twenty years.
The 440 is (compared to modern rims) an extremely difficult rim to build.
Since building my first 440, I've built over 1000 wheels,
and I can say without hesitation that this is the best 440 I've ever built, including ones I've done in the past.
I won't get into too many details,
but I really felt how much I've gained over the past five years.
