A customer brought in a Bullet Ultra for me to work on.

A friend got a flat during the Sakai-hama crit, so I lent them this Bullet Ultra.
Apparently they crashed afterward, and the wheel got bent.

To cut to the chase—I couldn't fix it.
Out of the three replacement spokes I marked,
the middle one is tensioned to the max, but both neighbors are still floppy,
and the middle spoke is demanding even more tension,
which revealed that the rim is warped like a potato chip.
I had a feeling I might be able to straighten it out, but...
(When something's impossible, I should say so right away)


The tire that was on there burst too, and
when I looked at the rear wheel afterward, it was warped like a potato chip even worse than the front.
Apparently the front fork and rear triangle that this wheel was attached to were completely trashed.
I showed the customer a bent-up scrapped rim from a Bullet Ultra we have in the shop,
but I told them this one was probably in worse shape.
