I built a bike that needed grips of different lengths on the left and right sides, but the customer's Cinelli grips turned out to be problematic.

Since they're lock-on grips secured with a hex wrench, there was no way to trim them down.

So I cut them to length anyway.
It might look like I've perfectly recreated the shape, but that's obviously impossible.
In the image, the bottom one—the side where the lock ring is already installed—is the modified side.

Somehow it worked out.
Since it's not a very reliable method, there's no guarantee it'll work 100% of the time.
This time was just lucky.
(So I'm gently hedging my bets by saying "I won't be doing this kind of work again")
