When I deliver Nomu Lab wheels, I sometimes swap them onto the bike the customer rode in on,
like changing shoes, but
for some reason many customers lately don't come back to pick up their original wheels
and they're piling up in the shop. Please come get them.

↑The Axiom in the image is from one of those situations,
but it's still new so it's not a permanent display piece.
And I got permission to take photos for this article.
On the Axiom is a Schwalbe Lugano,
and on my personal Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5
is a Continental Attack III.
Continental makes the Attack & Force tire line,
with the Attack being front-wheel specific and the Force for the rear wheel,
and while there are bundled set sales, they also sell individual tires.
The tread pattern and tire width differ front to back,
and with Attack & Force II the Attack was 22C and Force was 24C,
but with the current generation III, the Attack is 23C and Force is 25C.
I used to like running Attack II in 22C on the front wheel
and Grand Prix 4000S II in 23C on the rear,
but since it's been discontinued, there's nothing I can do.
Currently I'm running Attack III in 23C on the front tire.
That's fine and all, but
the Attack III has a different tread pattern from the Attack II.

↑In the image above is the Lugano and below is the Attack III,
and based on the water drainage logic, the direction of travel on both should be the right side of the image... but
the Attack III has the left side as the manufacturer-specified direction of travel.
It seems backwards to me, but like with Mavic's front tires,
I thought "if the manufacturer says so, I should follow it"
so I deliberately don't install it in reverse.
But if there were no directional arrow specified on the tire sidewall,
I'd likely be running it "incorrectly" right now.
