A customer brought in the rear wheel from a Racing 3 for repairs.

A spoke broke from contact during riding.

Fixed.
Just adjusting the nipple on the replacement spoke got the wheel to run almost true, and after minor lateral true adjustment, it came out perfectly centered. This suggests the wheel was originally nearly true and perfectly centered.
With wheels that have broken or missing spokes, there's no point looking at the provisional center before work. Especially in this case, with only seven high-tension spokes on the non-freewheel side, having one broken means a strong lateral deflection appears at that position, throwing off the centering too.

↑Even after breaking, it somehow kept rolling. There were traces of heavy brake rub over about a quarter of the rim on the right side, centered around where the replacement spoke is positioned.
